In my stockroom with unsorted stock I came across a book produced ( but not for publication ) by Eyre and Spottiswoode for the visit of the Nepalese Prime Minister to Dreadnought in July 1908. A beautiful blue leather bound book with gilt royal crest and title, silk inside covers, photos and a map folded into the pocket in the inside cover. Enhancing the already fascinating book is a handwritten comparison of Dreadnought with other naval ships, HMS King George V and HMS Vanguard, by a midshipman in the royal navy. A wonderful piece of history I can hold onto until a new owner comes forward.<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Sometimes you stumble across a fascinating find and last week&#8230;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":1,"featured_media":0,"comment_status":"open","ping_status":"open","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"_monsterinsights_skip_tracking":false,"_monsterinsights_sitenote_active":false,"_monsterinsights_sitenote_note":"","_monsterinsights_sitenote_category":0,"_kad_post_transparent":"","_kad_post_title":"","_kad_post_layout":"","_kad_post_sidebar_id":"","_kad_post_content_style":"","_kad_post_vertical_padding":"","_kad_post_feature":"","_kad_post_feature_position":"","_kad_post_header":false,"_kad_post_footer":false,"_kad_post_classname":"","footnotes":""},"categories":[1],"tags":[50,52,51],"class_list":["post-2711","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","hentry","category-uncategorized","tag-dreadnought","tag-not-for-publication","tag-royal-navy"],"_links":{"self":[{"href":"https:\/\/kirstenscuriosities.co.uk\/index.php?rest_route=\/wp\/v2\/posts\/2711"}],"collection":[{"href":"https:\/\/kirstenscuriosities.co.uk\/index.php?rest_route=\/wp\/v2\/posts"}],"about":[{"href":"https:\/\/kirstenscuriosities.co.uk\/index.php?rest_route=\/wp\/v2\/types\/post"}],"author":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/kirstenscuriosities.co.uk\/index.php?rest_route=\/wp\/v2\/users\/1"}],"replies":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/kirstenscuriosities.co.uk\/index.php?rest_route=%2Fwp%2Fv2%2Fcomments&post=2711"}],"version-history":[{"count":1,"href":"https:\/\/kirstenscuriosities.co.uk\/index.php?rest_route=\/wp\/v2\/posts\/2711\/revisions"}],"predecessor-version":[{"id":2712,"href":"https:\/\/kirstenscuriosities.co.uk\/index.php?rest_route=\/wp\/v2\/posts\/2711\/revisions\/2712"}],"wp:attachment":[{"href":"https:\/\/kirstenscuriosities.co.uk\/index.php?rest_route=%2Fwp%2Fv2%2Fmedia&parent=2711"}],"wp:term":[{"taxonomy":"category","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/kirstenscuriosities.co.uk\/index.php?rest_route=%2Fwp%2Fv2%2Fcategories&post=2711"},{"taxonomy":"post_tag","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/kirstenscuriosities.co.uk\/index.php?rest_route=%2Fwp%2Fv2%2Ftags&post=2711"}],"curies":[{"name":"wp","href":"https:\/\/api.w.org\/{rel}","templated":true}]}}
